We combine leading models such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. These models never interact directly with teachers or students. Before any response reaches the classroom, it passes through a filtering layer that Madlen has designed for safety and pedagogical suitability.

The platform meets UK GDPR and EU GDPR requirements, and aligns with the Department for Education's expectations for the safe, responsible use of generative AI in schools. All of our tools run on Infercom, Europe's first sovereign AI infrastructure provider. This means data is processed on servers in Germany, within EU borders, and is never transferred to the US. The infrastructure is certified to the ISO 27001:2022 standard. For international school partnerships, we also align with the local regulations of each country. Madlen supports a range of question types, including multiple choice, open-ended, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and matching. You can also generate context-based questions that measure how well a student applies knowledge in an unfamiliar situation. If you want to work with the National Curriculum, the alignment mode links each question to the relevant learning objective, so you can see at a glance which question measures which objective and balance your assessment against the curriculum.

You can track your students' progress from the Student Analytics tab. Beyond assessment results, you can see each student's work on the platform, their question-by-question performance, and their progress at the objective level through charts and detailed analytics. There's also a separate admin panel for school leaders, where they can monitor school-wide usage and class- and teacher-level performance on a single screen.
