About OCR GCSE Biology A Gateway (J247)
OCR Gateway Biology A (J247) uses four component codes: Papers 1 and 2 are the Foundation tier, Papers 3 and 4 the Higher tier. Students sit two papers, both from the same tier.
Papers 1 and 3 cover topics B1–B3, Papers 2 and 4 cover B4–B6, and practical skills (B7) are examined across all of them.
