About AQA GCSE Chemistry (8462)
AQA GCSE Chemistry (8462) is assessed by two written papers at Foundation or Higher tier. Paper 1 covers the first five topics, from atomic structure to energy changes; Paper 2 the remaining five, from rates of reaction to using resources.
Students are given a periodic table in the exam; the board’s copy is listed with each series where it was published.
Tiers: Foundation (grades 1–5) and Higher (grades 4–9)
